Slow down.

Last night I was scrolling through my phone, kind of bored and I decided to click on my calendar. It was a weird moment as I looked day by day and saw absolutely nothing on the calendar. This may come as a surprise to some, but our calendar typically has multiple events on it each day. Of course, if you know me, you know I'm being sarcastic in saying that, but on an average week, we find ourselves only having one evening open and usually it's Wednesday. In the past, that may have been the only time we would eat dinner together as a family or have had an opportunity to spend quality time on homework or projects. The rest of the days and evenings Robert and I found ourselves (with the help of my mom) conquering and dividing in order to get kids to where they needed to be. Did you notice I didn't mention anything about quality time with each other, as a family? That's because it has been few and far between that we had that time or even had the energy to spend that time with each other or the kids. This whole Coronavirus has made me realize that we have needed to SLOW DOWN for quite some time. It's really sad that we have been so consumed in our busy schedules that we haven't prioritized time for our family. I'm sure a lot of people are feeling this right now. I've seen some be grateful for this quarantine and I've seen some be....well let's just say non-compliant and angry. Whichever way YOU choose to look at it, I wanted to make sure and share my thankfulness for this stay home order. I have had an opportunity to spend quality time with my kids and husband. I've been able to watch TV (which I never really do). I've been able to write my blogs and share with you all, not feeling the pressure of doing a million other things. We've cooked more. Stayed up on laundry. Taken a lot of walks. Allowed the kids to do crafts that are time-consuming and messy (*insert anxious laugh*). Ultimately we have just been able to enjoy life in a better headspace. I hope that as you handle this pandemic in your own way, you will at least take time to slow down and enjoy what's around you.
